VERSION FRANÇAISE

synopsis

Chartres_AffichelightFR

June 2014: the next major phase of the restoration of Chartres Cathedral has begun, a project that will take two-and-a-half years to complete. The most spectacular and representative areas of the cathedral are being renovated: the nave, with its soaring 35 meter walls and the windows surrounding it, reputedly the largest collection of 13th century stained glass in Europe under one roof. The documentary takes a look at the work of the restorers, conservators, scientists and architects who share their passion behind the scenes for this exceptional historical and cultural site.
